September is the time when children and teenagers return to school and educational institutions.
The atmosphere in Israel is tense, both from the outside and within the country. Often, parents, out of fear for their children, keep them at home. Thanks to the trust built over many years of working with teenagers and organizing camps for 5 years, parents not only allow their children to participate, but also wish to join hikes across Israel themselves.
So it was on the last Shabbat, when we were able to organize a hiking trip of about 8 km, through descents and climbs, as well as along the Ziv stream, whose temperature is 15°C – which is considered very cold for Israel. Fresh air, hiking in the shade of trees, overcoming various obstacles, staying away from phones, and immersing ourselves in God’s created nature – all of this brought many positive emotions, rest for the spirit and soul, and health for the body. We were able to step away from stress and depression, and recharge for the new season and the upcoming school year.
